Call for participation 2022

Why participate

The Association for Information Systems and Temple University Information Systems Job Index is the only longitudinal assessment of placement, demographics, type of jobs, acceptance, geographical patterns, and knowledge of information systems (IS), management information systems (MIS), and computer information systems (CIS) graduates from universities across the United States

Participants

32 schools participated in 2019 following the tradition from 2013, 2015, and 2017 including Arizona State, Boston College, Carnegie Mellon, Florida International, Georgia State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, San Jose State, University of Alabama, University of Arizona, University of Arkansas, University of Colorado-Denver, University of Dayton, University of Georgia, University of Memphis, University of Minnesota, University of Oklahoma, University of Texas, Dallas, Temple and others.

How to participate and benefits

Participation is open to 4-year U.S universities that offer an information systems major. To request participation, please send an email to mandviwa@temple.edu. There is a $495 fee (same as 2013) collected and managed by the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Benefits include:

  • Participation and featured as one of the participating schools on the website and print report with school logo
  • Custom excel file of your school’s raw data so you can compare against the national numbers
  • $200 is returned as $10 amazon gift cards to the first 20 students from your school
  • Three copies of the full-color national print report
  • (optional) Custom branded postcard or poster to promote your program

The reason for the modest fee, even though there is financial support from Temple University’s Institute for Business and Information Technology is because the project is very labor-intensive including data collection, tabulation, analysis, custom reports for each school, professional design, printing and mailing. The Association for Information Systems (AIS) formally supports the project but only covers the cost of printing and mailing. The labor is covered by Temple’s IBIT corporate sponsors. 100% of your funds which will be managed by AIS will go toward the student prizes and professional design services.  The fee allows us to make the full report available on this site for free and to produce the print report for wide distribution.

Global IS Job Index

The long term plan is to publish a global IS Job Index. However, accomplishing this goal will require regional customization. If you are interested in helping expand the IS Job Index globally and can bring resources to the project, please contact Munir Mandviwalla at mandviwa@temple.edu.
