Why participate
The Association for Information Systems and Temple University Information Systems Job Index is the only longitudinal assessment of placement, demographics, jobs, acceptance, geographical patterns, and knowledge of information systems (IS), management information systems (MIS), and computer information systems (CIS) graduates from universities across the United States.
Established 2013, the IS Job Index has become an important resource for chairs and faculty, current and prospective students, industry, and deans on IT job market entrants.
In 2022, about 10,000 postcards and 5000 print reports were distributed to deans, senior executives, and academics. All the major AIS conferences feature the report with banners and participating school logos. To date, isjobindex.com has received more than 60,000 unique views, and the full report has been downloaded more than 20,000 times.

How to participate and benefits
Participation is open to 4-year U.S universities that offer an information systems major. To request participation, please send an email to Laurel.Miller@temple.edu. There is a $695 fee collected and managed by the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Benefits include:
- Participation and featured with logo as one of the participating schools on the IS Job Index website and in the print report
- Custom excel file of your school’s raw data to benchmark against the national results
- $200 is returned as $10 gift cards to the first 20 students from your school
- Three printed copies of the national report
- 100 printed postcards
- Professionally designed customizable PowerPoint deck to recruit students or present to industry
The reason for the fee, even though there is financial support from the Association for Information Systems and Temple University’s Institute for Business and Information Technology is because the project is complex, including data collection, tabulation, analysis, custom reports for each school, professional design, website, printing, and mailing. The fee allows us to make the full report available on this site for free and to produce the print report for wide distribution.
In 2024, the expanded partnership between the Association for Information Systems and Temple University’s Institute for Business and Information Technology will further broaden dissemination of the results.

Global IS Job Index
The long term plan is to publish a global IS Job Index. However, accomplishing this goal will require regional customization. If you are interested in helping expand the IS Job Index globally and can bring resources to the project, please contact Laurel Miller at Laurel.Miller@temple.edu.
